Angelina Jolie to Play Cleopatra

Is she perfect for the role?

When you think of the perfect role for Angelina Jolie, what comes to mind? Crazy as it sounds, we've always thought she'd make an excellent Cleopatra. She just looks a lot like the famous Egyptian princess and now we're hearing she's actually going to play her!

Can't you see Angelina Jolie as Cleopatra? Producer Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men), told USA Today that he's been working on a movie about Cleopatra since 2006 and that it "is being developed for and with Jolie."

The movie will be based on the book by Stacy Schiff, Cleopatra: A Life. It's funny because even though we think Angelina looks like the perfect Cleopatra, Schiff says, "We have little idea of what she actually looked like." We do know that Elizabeth Taylor played her in 1963 and we think Angelina Jolie will be even better for the role.

And even Schiff admits, "Physically, she's the perfect look." We couldn't agree more. In even more interesting Cleopatra news, Schiff is also saying Brad Pitt would be the natural choice to play Marc Antony. How amazing would that be? For some reason though, we can't really see them agreeing to do this movie together.
