She says she's not a beauty.
.

She tells the truth about what she thinks.

Anne Hathaway did an interview with InStyle for the March issue, in which she appraises her features honestly, saying that her looks are on the weird side. Considering how many celebrity interview that go something along the lines of "oh em gee I'm so hot, so I can't get serious roles," what she said was refreshing, and interesting.

Anne told the magazine that "I think I've got really weird features. I have very large features on a very small head." She doesn't stop there.

"But, you know, I'm not going to beat myself up. It's my face. I'm not very pretty," she continued. "But that's OK because I do know that I look like myself, and I think at the end of the day, as nice as pretty is, authenticity is more important."

Anne, who looks up to style icons in Hollywood like Tilda Swinton, Lady GaGa, Selma Blair, and Gwen Stefani, added that while she's not a fan of her features, she is a fan of dressing up.

"I love going out in high heels and dressing up and glamming it up, and having there be a distinction between what happened throughout the day and the evening," she mentioned.

Have you ever thought that Anne Hathaway had awkward looks? I remember thinking she looked gorg in The Devil Wears Prada, but obviously that was because of the awesome makeover and killer hair, too. She's kind of off my radar in general (a.k.a. "meh"), but I think that she looks good when styled correctly. I don't think this angle on InStyle's cover, shown, is very flattering, though.

Was Anne fishing for compliments?

Ever since her make over in Princess Diaries, I always thought she was pretty. She's not like GORGEOUS, but she is pretty. Brave of her to point out her flaws though...
