Steve Jobs Said He Had "Cracked" The TV Problem
Apple is planning on taking a bite out of televisions in 2012. The company is reportedly set to introduce a line of TV sets next year, which will come in either 32 or 37-inches and may feature Siri, the voice-controlled assistant used in the iPhone 4S.

Industry insiders say Apple will release its first television set sometime next year, with Samsung producing the chips and Sharp developing the displays.
Several other rumors are swirling around the excitement, including that Apple will incorporate the same voice-controlled functions found in its latest iPhone. It's also been reported that rather than building actual TV sets, the company may just bring television-functionality to its computers.
The next step would be to secure content for users, which could include fully customizable packages of channels available for a monthly subscription.

The idea of an Apple TV set was planted years ago, though buzz over a possible "iTV" really heated up when Steve Jobs, the company's late co-founder, told his biographer, Walter Isaacson, that he had "cracked" the problem of building an Apple television.
"I'd like to create an integrated television set that is completely easy to use," he said. "It would be seamlessly synced with all of your devices and with iCloud. It will have the simplest user interface you could imagine. I finally cracked it."
