'Baywatch' Babe Nicole Eggert: "Real Women Gain Weight"
Funny or Die spoof encourages men to think by busting the myth of the Baywatch bod.
"I was gonna save your life, you know how shallow that is?" These are the words of former Baywatch babe Nicole Eggert when two pot-bellied yuppies tell her to "resume your lifeguard duties somewhere else" after they scheme to lock lips with a woman by pretending to drown.
The Baywatch theme song stops and Eggert asks, "Is this because I'm fat?"
At the end of the day -- or the two-minute clip -- the Funny or Die skit is funny. But it definitely gives a nod to a non-TV reality. As Eggert says in the clip, "I'm a real woman. And you know, real women gain weight." She walks away from the fake-emergency scene, tramp stamp, muffin top and life preserver in tow. "Call me fat," she laughs as she exits, while the two men do the dead-man's float.
Eggert, 37, played Jamie Powell on Charles In Charge and Summer Quinn on Baywatch. In 1996 she severely injured her back in a snow mobile accident and two years later she gave birth to a daughter. It's reported she still struggles with her back injury.
Eggert is set to appear on the next season of VH1's Celebrity Fit Club in February 2010...but for now, red bikini or not, we think she's beautiful.
