Betty White's New TV Gig, "Hot In Cleveland"
Betty White to star with Valerie Burtinelli and other TV vets.
Did you think the Betty White bonanza would end on May 8 after she hosts Saturday Night Live? No way! TVLand has just signed Betty White for their new show Hot In Cleveland.
Mary Tyler Moore alumna and Golden Girl Betty White has stepped into a second coming of fame after her Snickers Super Bowl commercial sparked fan pandemonium online. Five hundred thousand fans used Facebook to ask SNL to book Betty White as a host, and now that the SNL gig has been confirmed, other TV execs are seeing that Betty White is a fan favorite that draws a crowd.
Here's what we're told: Betty White's role on Hot In Cleveland will see her as a caretaker of a house where old-school TV beauties live. The New York Times says this, to be exact: "The show stars three other comedy veterans of a different generation - Valerie Bertinelli (of "One Day at a Time"), Jane Leeves ("Frasier") and Wendie Malick ("Just Shoot Me") - as Los Angeles émigrés who end up in Cleveland. Ms. White, who plays the caretaker of the house they live in, was originally set just for the pilot episode."
The show will kick off in June on TVLand. Stay with LimeLife for updates. Meanwhile, if you're nostalgic for some of primetime TV's fave beauties, read how Winnie Cooper from The Wonder Years is expecting! Then check out our HUGE celeb photo section:
