'Big Bang Theory' Star Kaley Cuoco Breaks Leg

The show must go on without her.

This is not the kind of big break an actress hopes for. Kaley Cuoco, who plays aspiring thespian Penny on the hit show CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory, has broken her leg in a horse-riding accident.

Cuoco, 24, fell from her horse over the weekend at her ranch in California's San Fernando Valley, breaking her leg and sending her to the hospital. She is now resting in a Los Angeles hospital.

"She did break her leg, but is expected to make a full recovery," said her representative, Melissa Kates. "She will not be working this week and there was already a planned hiatus for next week."

Filming for an upcoming episode of the show was still scheduled for Tuesday evening, so writers had to figure out a way to excuse one of the show's biggest stars from the script.

Just last month Cuoco, who also happens to be a nationally-ranked amateur table tennis player, told CNN about her love of the outdoors.

"I'm all about the horses, riding, nature and just the quiet side of life," she said.

Hopefully she can get back to all that once the leg heals.
