Black Eyed Peas Accused of Plagiarism
Copy cat?
It seems like everyone is doing it these days: accusing the popular music groups of plagiarism. Most recently, the Black Eyed Peas are the target of the accusations. Can you hear the similarities?
UK-based DJ and producer Adam Freeland is accusing the Black Eyed Peas of ripping of his song "Mancry." If you listen to the Black Eyed Peas "Party All The Time" from their new album, The E.N.D., the similarities are quite apparent. But do you think Fergie, will.i.am and the rest of the Black Eyed Peas are blatantly copying or are just sharing a similar sound?
Freeland has asked his Twitter followers to compare to two songs, saying, "Ok. Check this. Listen to our song 'Mancry'. Now listen to Black Eyed Peas 'Party All The Time.' WTF!"
Allegedly, will.i.am attended an event where Freeland performed "Mancry," making things a bit more suspicious. Lawyers for both sides are currently in talks and future legal action is currently unknown.
Check out the two tracks and let us know what you think. Blatant plagiarism or just a bit similar?
