Bret Michaels Isn't Apologizing for Miley Cyrus Duet
And btw, he's a good dad, too
So, were you sufficiently creeped out by the Bret Michaels and Miley Cyrus duet, "Nothin' to Lose" (Listen here)? Well, Bret Michaels realizes a lot of you are creeped out, but he just doesn't care. And he's not apologizing. Not that we really needed him too.
In fact, it probably would have been even creepier if Bret Michaels apologized for singing a sexy song with 17-year-old Miley Cyrus. But he sees no reason to. According to Bret Michaels, he got 75 text messages about the scandal of the song and he says, "I was like, 'What the f*ck is going on?' Everyone's going nuts!"
Did you know Bret Michaels is actually a dad himself? He has two daughters, age 9 and 4. Does this make the song any better or worse? Michales says he recorded the song months ago without Miley. But when he got together with Miley to sing "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" for her album, she heard the song and wanted to sing in it. He says, "[Miley's] like, 'This is an incredible song, it's beautiful. Maybe I could some stuff to it, some harmonies,' I said, 'That'd be killer!"
.
And history was made. Bret Michaels thinks everyone is blowing this out of proportion. And Michaels says he didn't even think about how creepy the lyrics might be: "I never sat down and said, 'Look at the content. Look at the lyrical content.'" Uhh, why not? OK though, I do get what Michaels is saying. It's not like he wrote the song with Miley Cyrus in mind. It was most likely Miley pressuring Bret to let her sing.
Bret isn't apologizing, but he does say, "As God is my witness, there is nothing I have to be defensive about... I'm a good Dad. I just thought it was a beautiful song." And we did hear those rumors about Bret Michaels and Tish Cyrus, Miley's mom.
When will we stop being so creeped out by everything Miley Cyrus does? Maybe things will get better when she turns 18.
