Britney's Grammy makeup a mess

Britney Spears made me recoil when I caught her posing at the Grammys-- while that dress was one thing, the makeup was another entirely. It's time to figure out what went wrong with Brit's face after the jump, and what we can do to avoid the same makeup misstep.

I know I'm going to get some haters for this, but Britney could have done a lot better when she got dolled up for the Grammys. How, you ask? Let's take a look:

*She could've ditched the too-bright blush. Britney Spears' cheek where stained an odd strawberry color when she posed away for the paps, and she could've taken things down a notch or two. I think she'd look better with a different shade, too-- this one is way too red and messes with her lipstick shade.

*She could have rocked out an awesome hairstyle instead of her always-problematic weave situation. Britney's hair always looks a tad questionable, so she should definitely aim for a sleek look. I would've loved to see an elegant updo, although her hairstyle here is worlds better than others we've seen lately.

*Brit could've skipped the dark eyeshadow/mascara under the eye. I know that she's supposed to have a brown-based smokey eye thing going on, but it highlights how tired she looks. When you are sleepy or run-down, it's best not to use too much makeup under the eye. I wish more champagne shadow and tawny tones were used.
