Britney Spears Leaves Stage During Concert
She didn't like the smoke.
Britney Spears was in Vancouver last night for her sold-out Circus concert, but walked off the stage a short 15 minutes into the show.
The crowd got agitated as Britney didn't return for more than half an hour. The fans were not impressed.
A female voice finally announced to the crowd, "The building is awfully smoky. It is uncomfortable for everyone on stage, including Ms. Spears. Please extinguish all cigarettes - this is a non-smoking building, and the show will resume when the smoke on the stage is cleared," the Vancouver Sun reports.
Some fans felt the vibe was gone, but stayed to see Britney come back on stage to perform "Me Against the Music," which the fans loved. Then, she started performing "Everytime" when she stopped the concert for a second time. She said to the crowd, "What's up, Vancouver?" and the left the stage again, 90 seconds before the end of the song.
She ended the concert with "Womanizer" and told the Vancouver audience that they shouldn't smoke weed.
After the show, this statement was posted on her website: "We want to apologize to all the fans who attended our Vancouver show tonight for the brief pause in Britney's set. Crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue."
