Britney Spears Releases Statement on Bodyguard Assault Claims
Spears' public statement stings.
We've been tracking the developments in the story surrounding Britney Spears' recently-fired bodyguard, Fernando Flores, and his claims that she repeatedly exposed herself to him and subject her children to abusive behavior. Not only has ex-husband Kevin Federline's counsel spoken out, Britney herself has issued the following public statement.

For weeks ex-bodyguard Fernando Flores had been threatening to file a lawsuit against Britney Spears for what sounds like completely fabricated claims. Our pals at Celebitchy sum up his charges, in which Flores asserted "Britney walked around naked all the time, trying to lure her bodyguards into bed, in between beating and poisoning her children."
By Thursday afternoon Britney Spears had spoken out -- via her website, always an official move -- saying:
"This lawsuit is another unfortunate situation where someone is trying to take advantage of the Spears family and make a name for himself. The Department of Children and Family Services conducted a proper investigation surrounding Mr. Flores' accusations and have closed the case without any further action. Ms. Spears and her attorneys have every expectation that this matter will be dismissed by the courts."

Britney Spears' fans have come out with largely supportive comments on her website's blog in response to her statement against Flores -- early Friday morning one said, "Should we care about it? There are more important matters than your life, Britney."
Parties privy to Brit's background appear quite certain that Fermando Flores is only behaving so extremely because Britney axed him last month. Both Spears' and Federlines' attorneys have investigated Flores' claims and determined that they were "baseless."
