Brittny Gastineau Loans Lindsay Lohan Jewelry for Trial

Oh, the irony

See, guys, people really do loan Lindsay Lohan jewelry! While attending her court hearing yesterday, Lindsay was wearing a brand new necklace, loaned to her by her friend Brittny Gastineau. Do you think she'll give it back?

Sorry, now I'm just being kind of mean. But I do think it's pretty ironic that Lindsay Lohan wore a borrowed necklace to her trial where she's being accused of stealing jewelry. That she thought was, you know, lent to her.

But the necklace she was wearing at yesterday's court hearing, was lent to her by her good friend Brittny Gastineau. It was a $3,000 Diamond Protection Eye Anti Envy, meant to protect Lindsay. Huh. A whole lot of good that did. She also let Lindsay borrow a pair of $1,800 Heart Locket earrings. How trusting!

In all honesty, Brittny does seem like a really good friend to Lindsay Lohan. Something Lindsay really needs right now. Gastineau tells RadarOnline.com, "I spoke to Lindsay last night and she was concerned about the trial and wondered what she should wear ... I thought my Diamond Protection Eye Anti Envy necklace would be a good idea under the circumstances." 

Naomi Campbell had the same idea when she wore the necklace from Gastineau's Tres Chic line to her blood diamond hearing.

If Brittny Gastineau trusts Lindsay Lohan to return the loaned jewelry then does that say something about her character? I'm clearly not Lindsay Lohan's biggest fan, but I really don't think she outright stole that jewelry. And I do wish she could continue working on her sobriety instead of heading back to jail again.

Brittny feels for her friend, too, and says, "We have been friends for a long time and I feel really sad for her... Everyone has their opinion about what happened, but I just feel bad for her. She has just had such a hard time, and hopefully this will be the last of it."

It doesn't sound like that Diamond Protection Eye Anti Envy necklace did much good for Lindsay Lohan in court. But at least, her outfit was a bit more appropriate than her last appearance. And her friends are still trusting her with borrowing jewelry.
