Can Jon and Kate Plus 8 Win an Emmy?
Is it reality or is it non-fiction?
They're certainly going to try to win that Emmy. Well, at least The Learning Channel is going to. TLC sent a Jon and Kate Plus 8 DVD to Academy of Television Arts and Sciences members as part of their Emmy campaign. But we have a feeling Kate Gosselin will get involved somehow.
10 million people tuned in for the season premiere of Jon and Kate Plus 8 a few weeks ago, so clearly it's popular among viewers. But do you think they can win an Emmy?
Let's just say Kathy Griffin has won for best reality show 2 years in a row for her show My Life on the D List. Last year she surprisingly (to us anyway) beat out Jon and Kate, Antiques Roadshow, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and Intervention. If Kathy Griffin can win, why can't the Gosselins?
TLC is actually pushing to get Jon and Kate switched from the reality category to the non-fiction category, but it's doubtful that will happen.
If Jon and Kate Plus 8 makes it to the final 5 (of reality or non-fiction), Emmy judges will be viewing this year's season premiere "Turning 5 and the Future," which includes all of the latest turmoil going on in the Gosselin household. If the show wins an Emmy, is that just going to fuel Kate and her money-hingry ways even more?

Here are some pics from the season premiere. They were throwing a birthday party for the kids.
