She joins Queen Latifah, who will sing "America the Beautiful" before the game. Then, at halftime, rock legends The Who will perform, hopefully eithout too many "wardrobe malfunctions" a la Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake a few years ago.
.
Other belters who have sung the National Anthem at the Super Bowl include a who's who of popular music. Underwood joins Billy Joel, Jordin Sparks, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Whitney Houston, Harry Connick, Jr., Garth Brooks, Natalie Cole, Vanessa Williams, Luther Vandross, Cher, Faith Hill, Mariah Carey, Dixie Chicks, Beyoncé and Jennifer Hudson.
