Cate Blanchett Suffering From Head Injury
Actress Cate Blanchett suffered from a head injury after she was hit by a prop at a live performance. Blanchett was struck hard by a radio while on stage acting in A Streetcar Named Desire at The Sydney Theatre Company.
The radio that hit the 40-year-old was thrown by her cast member, Joel Edgerton, and although part of the script, left Cate with a sore head. An audience member said: "She had blood streaming down the back of her head and blood on the back of her neck." The witness added: "She acted for about another 30 seconds, then ran into what we thought was the next scene, but before we knew it, the lights were turned on and we were told there were technical difficulties and everyone had to evacuate the Sydney Theatre Company."
