Catherine Zeta-Jones is Going to Broadway
Her return to singing
We always forget that Catherine Zeta-Jones can sing. But then we remember how amazing she was in the movie version of Chicago and we wonder how we could have ever forgotten. Now, Catherine Zeta-Jones is headed to Broadway for her first time and we have a feeling she's going to sell out some shows!
Catherine Zeta-Jones is going to make her Broadway debut in A Little Night Music, which is set to open on December 13. Catherine will be playing Desiree Armfeldt, and she'll be co-starring with the always amazing Angela Lansbury who will star as Madame Armfeldt.
Zeta-Jones says, "I'm honored that Trevor Nunn and Stephen Sondheim asked me to make my Broadway debut in this beautiful production... I look forward to starting rehearsal with this extraordinary group of people and working with the incomparable Angela Lansbury, whose work I've long admired."
Imagine your first time on Broadway and you're starring with Angela Lansbury? What an awesome opportunity! Angela Lansbury also called Zeta-Jones a "lovely young actor," which should make Catherine extremely proud.
Catherine Zeta-Jones, who turned 40 this week, recently said she has no desire to move to LA and is happy splitting her time between New York and Bermuda with husband Michael Douglas and their kids. Looks like they'll get to enjoy New York for a bit more time!
