Chanel Brings Temporary Tattoos to the Mainstream
The new designer accessory!
Could temporary tattoos be the next big thing in the fashion world? Lots of people aren't up for getting real tattoos. And lots of people can't afford jewelry from their favorite designers. Temporary tattoos from your favorite designers sound like an easy fix. And Chanel is on board!
At the Spring 2010 runway shows, several of the models donned temporary tattoos, including the models from Rodarte. And now Chanel is coming out with their own "line" of ultra cute temporary tattoos and I'm starting to think they might be the perfect accessory to rock.
Think about it. You don't have to make the commitment to buy one Chanel necklace or other accessory. You can buy a whole pack of Chanel tattoos and change them as you please. The tattoos aren't exactly cheap as far as temporary tattoos go, but they're much less expensive than anything else from Chanel (or a real tattoo!). They come in packs with 55 designs and will cost $75.
The temporary tattoos force no commitment at all. If you don't like one, you simply scrub it off. Otherwise, you've got a new Chanel tattoo to don for every week of the year. How can you go wrong with that? I have a feeling lots of brands will be coming out with their own temporary tattoos very soon. Will you rock them?
We haven't gotten our hands on the actual tattoo designs yet, but the photo above is from an old Chanel ad from 2007. It seems like this is when Chanel started thinking about the idea, and I imagine that tattoos will be similar!
