Update!

Chris Brown has been released from lockdown after being charged with felony criminal threats charges. After throwing down $50,000 in bail money, the R&B prince was sent free. After much speculation, a source at the L.A. Times has confirmed that the victim of the alleged assault was in fact Brown’s GF Rihanna.

Poor Ray Ray. We reported last week that the couple was having problems and supposedly spilt up after Brown didn’t return home from his European tour. But we had no idea it would come to this.

Rihanna’s publicist has since issued a statement that gave away very little about the incident: “Rihanna is well. Thank you for your concern and support."

Brown has hired famed criminal lawyer Mark Geragos, who defended convicted murderer Scott Peterson. Whether he'll face additional charges is at the discretion of the L.A.'s district attorney's office.

What a total a-hole! And a moron to boot. Yes, be famous and then beat on your famous girlfriend. No one will notice. Dump him, Rihanna!

If Mark Geragos can't save him, no one can.
