Civil Wars Cancel Tour, Citing "Irreconcilable Differences of Ambition"
Did The Civil Wars Just Break Up?
The Civil Wars just aren't getting along. In fact, the band has canceled its tour, citing "irreconcilable differences of ambition."
That sounds eerily similar to a reason given when one files for divorce.
So, what happened? Did the Civil Wars break up?
For those unfamiliar with the Grammy-winning musical duo, they made some beautiful country/folk music together, including the duet Safe & Sound with Taylor Swift.
Bandmates Joy Williams and John Paul White released a statement about their canceled tour dates in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, chalking their inability to "continue as a touring entity at this time" to "internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition."
The Civil Wars appear to be taking a temporary break, however, as their statement also promised, "Our sincere hope is to have new music for you in 2013."
Williams and husband Nate Yetton -- who is also the band's manager (conflict of interest much?) -- just had a baby this summer, so maybe the new addition has something to do with the canceled tour dates?
