'Clueless' Star Stacey Dash Supports Mitt Romney, Faces Harsh Twitter Backlash
The Attacks Get Personal and Nasty After She Tweets Her Pro-Romney Message
Actress Stacey Dash, best known for her role as Beverly Hills fashionista teen Dionne in both the movie and TV series versions of Clueless, might not have anticipated how harshly her political viewpoints would be judged when she shared with her Twitter followers who she's voting for in the upcoming election.
"Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future. @mittromney @teamromney #mittromney #VOTE #voteromney," Dash tweeted on Oct. 7, along with a photo of her in front of an American flag.

But some people didn't approve of her political choice, and responded with ugly, hateful tweets, including some ridiculous suggestions that she should "kill herself," TheBlaze.com reports.
Another tweet called her "an indoor slave," while yet another asked if she was "ready to head back to the fields," and still another claimed "Stacey Dash has probably been thinking she's a white woman since her 'Clueless' days."

One man wrote, "This hurts but you a Romney lover and you slutting yourself to the white man only proves why no black man married u @REALStaceyDash."
Dash, who tweeted in response that it was "my humble opinion … EVERYONE is entitled to one," also received some Twitter love from those who defended her right (duh) to have a viewpoint different from the one some people expected her to have because of her gender or skin color.

"#ISupportStaceyDash for voting with her brain and not her skin color," @blackrepublican tweeted, while another woman tweeted, "#ISupportStaceyDash because she thinks w/ her brain, not #ladyparts. Also, holds content of character as higher priority than skin color."
Added another Dash defender, "Everyone should support @REALstaceydash for her courage to have her own opinion and not succumb to hate speech."
