Ronaldo's family: just parent the old-fashioned way.

We reported two weekends ago when Cristiano Ronaldo announced via Twitter that he'd become the father to a son. Details about the single-baby situation continue to unravel, but as it turns out, Ronaldo's family in Portugal are put-off by his fathering approach.

According to Splash, a source close to Ronaldo's family revealed the following: "Cristiano's family uphold very traditional Catholic values and believe firmly in the family structure. For them, a baby should be brought up by his mother and father.

So when they found out that he would be the sole guardian, to say eyebrows were raised would be an understatement. They were gobsmacked."

Cristiano Ronaldo Used a Surrogate Mother

What also may be rubbing the Ronaldos wrong is the fact that Cristiano, who named his son after himself, has been on holiday in New York with his girlfriend since news about the baby released. Who's keeping the kid? Ronaldo's mother. Yep, the new grandma's on diaper duty while her 25-year-old single-dad-son cavorts to clubs, restaurants and rooftop pools with his lingerie-model girlfriend...why did he have a kid again? (Ronaldo's father is not present to know his grandson, as sadly he passed away five years ago from an alcohol-related illness.)
