DKNY Teams Up With the New York Yankees
Best-dressed team?
Love them or hate them, you have to admit that the New York Yankees are pretty lucky to have landed this deal. OK, so we don't know if the boys will actually be dressed in DKNY but they will have a big DKNY billboard in the Yankee Stadium outfield.
In some pretty cool news, DKNY has entered into a sponsorship with MLB's New York Yankees, which will give them a billboard in the Yankees outfield. It's actually the first fashion brand that has a long-term outfield billboard and we can't help but wonder if this will be the start of a new trend in sports.
The chairman and CEO of DKNY told WWD, "Donna Karan created DKNY to capture the spirit of New York and the people who live here, including the most successful baseball team in history: the Yankees. This unique sponsorship gives DKNY a direct way to reach the consumer and also provides enormous visibility among the loyal, passionate audience - the millions of fans who visit Yankee Stadium each year, and the many millions more who watch Yankees games on television."
And can't you just seem most of the Yankees dressed from head to toe in DKNY? They might just be the perfect team for this sponsorship. The deal also includes a DKNY sponsorship for the Dugout Lounge, as well, and will likely have DKNY working with the Yankees on charity programs.
Do you think this was a smart move for DKNY?
