Dakota Fanning Confirms She's Into "New Moon"

We predict she ends up just like Kiki Dunst.

As we reported last week, rumors have been swirling that Dakota Fanning is in talks to play kiddie-vamp, Jane, from the Twilight series movie sequel, New Moon.

Well, it turns out that this particular rumor has more bite to it than the previously buzzed about turn by Vanessa Hudgens, and Dakota herself is talking about the possibility to the press!

Dakota spoke to HitFix about the process, saying:

"It's definitely possible. I really hope it works out. It would be a really fantastic experience I'm sure."

Fanning has a new movie coming out on February 6, Push, that also thrusts her into a paranormal world of people with supernatural/paranormal abilities, so we're thinking this wouldn't be a stretch for her.

But really? Tiny blonde child vampires? That's so Kiki Dunst circa 1994.
