Waiting for the announcement on the Dancing With the Stars spring 2010 lineup? The DWTS cast for the new season will be announced during Monday night's Bachelor season finale. Meantime, we have some hot Dancing scoop!
Our friends at Hollywood Life are reporting that Kate Gosselin may appear as a contestant on this season's Dancing With the Stars. Apparently Gosselin half-joked about hopes to appear on the show during a recent Jay Leno interview...and according to insiders, she may be getting her way.
Other cast maybes for the March 22 premiere? Hollywood Life says rumored dancers are "Full House star John Stamos, Britney Spears‘ ex hubby Kevin Federline, and Olympic diver Greg Louganis." Pamela Anderson has been confirmed to appear on the cast. Meanwhile we were surprised to report late last week that pro dancer Karina Smirnoff won't dance this season, and neither will her colleague Lacey Schwimmer.
In host news, we reported recently that co-host Samantha Harris has left Dancing With the Stars to pursue other TV projects. Who will join her host Tom Bergeron? As recently as last week, it was being reported that Paula Abdul would take Harris' spot...but we've just caught an update that Abdul has turned down the million-dollar ABC gig to remain in talks with Simon Cowell about joining X Factor.
So exactly who is screentesting for Samantha Harris' spot? Brooke Burke, winner of Dancing With the Stars Season 8 with her partner Derek Hough (who finds himself in a British celeb marital scandal), tried out last week. We've also caught reports that former Spice Girl and DWTS contestant Mel B auditioned, as did former onscreen teen, DWTS contestant and comeback-in-progress Melissa Joan Hart.
