Daniel Radcliffe Hopes to Direct a Gangster Movie
The star of the Harry Potter movies, Daniel Radcliffe, 20, has directing in his sights. His favoured flick would be a serious departure from the Hogwarts sagas, too.
Radcliffe says he would like to direct a gangster movie. A movie insider said: "Daniel's been looking at lots of scripts trying to decide what he'd like to direct. But he's now focusing on a story about a London gangster. Daniel wants to challenge people's pre-conceptions of him." Radcliffe is working on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and is slated to work on The Journey is The Destination. As for rumours he was in the running for a role as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit, Radcliffe brushed them aside. “I’d have to say, 'Thanks but no thanks.' Not that anyone has asked me. Honestly, I don’t think they would want me anyway, it’s just too close. Whatever I do next, I don’t think there will be any wizards in it!"
