David Beckham Recounts Tom Cruise Horror Story
David Had a Horrible Time with Tomkat
What, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes aren't the most awesome couple ever to hang out with? I never would have guessed. David Beckham was recently on George Lopez's new late-night show, and he described some of the "double dates" that he's been on with his wife, Victoria, and Tom and Katie.
To kick things off, Mr. Beckham is not a fan of singing in public. Fair enough-- he's awesome at other things, so he shouldn't have to sing if he's not up to it. Apparently Tom Cruise isn't good enough of a friend to be considerate of that... or he was drunk on thoughts of Xenu.
"We were at dinner once with Tom and Katie ... and we sat there and everyone was like, ‘OK, let's play a music game, let's start a singing game!'" Beckham, said while on George Lopez's TBS late night show, Lopez Tonight, Wednesday.
But that's not all. Beckham's no pushover, so he tried to mouth the words while desperately texting a friend to rescue him. This person happened to be sitting at a nearby table in the same restaurant.
"So I was texting my friend, ‘Oh, please, invite me to your table!'" said Beckham. "I kind of get uncomfortable with that."
There are many things that make me uncomfortable about Tom Cruise, so Beckham's a step ahead of me! I was pretty surprised that David managed to text at dinner without being caught.
