David Beckham's niece contracts swine flu
The 11-year-old niece of soccer star David Beckham has contracted swine flu after a stay at an adventure camp. Georgina Every, the daughter of Becks' sister Lynne, is now taking Tamiflu.
Beckham has sent her a get well message after Georgina was one of three children to come down with swine flu, which has so far hit 7,500 Britons. Lynne, 36, said she was sorry she had allowed the five-day trip, adding: "If I had known she would come back so sick, I would have forfeited the money." Parents were warned about an outbreak before the children set off but were told they would lose their £300 payments if they pulled out. Georgina was among some 90 students of St Edward's Primary, Romford, Essex at the PGL centre in Marchants Hill, Surrey. Eight camp staff contracted the virus and have been told to stay at home. Beckham is being kept closely informed of Georgina's condition.
