Demi Lovato Gets Personal In New Album
Disney star Demi Lovato has used her new album Here We Go Again to talk about her personal troubles. The 16-year-old, who played Mitchie Torres in the movie Camp Rock, shares her personal life with fans on the new album and spoke about her relationship with her dad.
She said: "I wrote a song called For the Love of a Daughter with William Beckett from The Academy Is. "Totally wasn't planning on writing a song that deep or anything, but we just got together had a really long talk and then spit out this song." She added: "It's basically about my past relationship with my birth father. I think everybody - well, a lot of people - go through this situation where parents divorce, and what they don't realise is it really affects you. It's selfish for me to bottle up my past when I could help others." Demi was able to work with new people on the album, and she got to work with one of her favourite musicians, John Mayer. She said: "I actually wrote two songs with John Mayer, one of which will make the album [World of Chances]... it's a really cool song. "It's the first song we wrote together, and working with him was incredible. It was a pipe dream. I didn't even thing it would ever come true, 'cause he's just awesome. He's John Mayer."
