Director Roman Polanski Begins House Arrest

Roman Polanski posted a staggering $4.5 million bail to head to his alpine resort this week, where his wife and children were waiting for his arrival (and his house arrest). Now the clock is ticking down until the courts decide whether or not to extradite him to the United States... or until he sneaks back to France. Just kidding. Sort of.

Roman Polanski is one controversial character, even at 76 years of age. He had sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977, and the case is only just getting escalated in Europe following his arrest in Switzerland. "Polanski has undertaken not to leave his house and property at any time," says the Swiss Justice Ministry about his current house arrest.
