Drew Barrymore is Happy She's Not Directing Eclipse

She could have directed Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart

Did you know there was a possibility Drew Barrymore could be directing the third Twilight movie, Eclipse? She was, at one point, shortlisted to direct the film. But with her new movie, Whip It, doing well, Drew seems quite content to stay away from the vampires.

Drew Barrymore might not be the first person who comes to mind when you think about a director for the Twilight movies. You might not have even realized she was a director. But Drew was actually being considered to take on directing duties for Eclipse. We didn't think she was the perfect match, and apparently, she didn't think she was either.

It seems that Drew Barrymore just wasn't totally in love with the Eclipse script. While we're pretty happy she wasn't chosen, we can't imagine not wanting to be chosen! But, of course, Drew's new film, Whip It, just recently came out. Drew says, "Timing-wise, I'm glad that it didn't work out and everything I think happens for whatever reason it's supposed to. I'm very much looking forward to seeing that film."

So, we guess it's a very good thing for Drew that she wasn't chosen as the Eclipse director! Drew continued, saying, "The thing that's really the most important for me is to be so in love with what I do that it's what gets you out of bed and makes you work six to seven days a week, 18 hours a day... Unless you're that invested, you won't care about every single detail. Every little coffee mug that's in the corner, every little lighting scheme, every lens package, every costume, every piece of casting, every line of dialogue - everything has to get 150 per cent of your attention and passion."

We agree and can understand why Drew wasn't totally invested in Eclipse. It just doesn't seem like the kind of movie she, or her production company, Flower Films, would produce. Anyway, we're sure Eclipse director David Slade is quite happy Drew wasn't chosen too!
