Patti Stanger tells LimeLife what single women can learn from married women.

With her new book Become Your Own Matchmaker, one of the hottest shows on Bravo and her status as the most famous matchmaker in the world, Patti Stanger is the dating expert women everywhere want to talk to. LimeLife: Patti, in Part 1 of our interview series, you said that the woman's who's married is often "not the prettiest girl at the party." Can we learn anything from that woman's approach to romance?

Patti Stanger: If you want to get married, start observing who's getting married and who's not. The best way to do that is to read in your local paper the engagement and the wedding section. You'll find women [of all ages and backgrounds] in there getting married and [even these women might have been saying,] "Wow, I never thought anybody would want me." Start reading that and start realizing that it can happen to you. You're just one guy away from the guy. All it takes is one.

LimeLife: That's a good way to look at it! Patti, you're in the middle of planning your own wedding, right?

Patti Stanger: Yes, I'm engaged.

LimeLife: Can you share any details of that gorgeous heart-shaped diamond you wear?

Patti Stanger: Sure! It's a four-carat, non-conflict stone from Israel. It was custom-made and designed. It took about three and a half months to come in. [My fiance, real estate mogul Andy Friedman] said to me, "I promise you it'll be non-conflict." He researched it himself, and that was a big deal to me.

LimeLife: Non-conflict is a huge deal, good for you. Okay, so what's been your favorite part of the wedding planning so far?

Patti Stanger: Um, cake tasting. (Laughs.) Red velvet cake, here we come!
