Fantasia Barrino is having a great year (at least, better than last year). In 2011 she swooped up her first Grammy award, landed her first movie role in Mahalia Jackson biopic, and before the year's out, popped out a baby. Well, almost. . .

As RadarOnline today reports, Barrino is currently in labor at the Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina, having checked in to the hospital yesterday.

The American Idol winner became pregnant by her boyfriend, Antwaun Cook, who is currently still married to his estranged wife, Paula. Controversially, Paula claims Barrino and Cook began an affair together while she and her husband were trying to patch up their marriage.

This new baby won't be Barrino's first child, since she has a daughter from a previous relationship. What's more, this won't be her first pregnancy with Cook as, during Cook's divorce proceedings with his ex-wife Paula, Barrino testified that she had aborted one child around the time of her failed suicide attempt last year.

Barrino's second pregnancy however, seems to be a joyous occasion,  as a source close to the couple told RadarOnline: “They’re excited to be having the baby around the holidays.”

Although Barrino wasn't due until December 29, the baby's makes for a nice Christmas gift.
