Four Steps to Rachel McAdams Fresh Oscar Beauty
Fresh and cute.
Rachel McAdams has had occasional bad luck on the red carpet, beauty-wise, but she looked amazing when she hit the Oscars red carpet last night. It was tough, but we narrowed down four things we adored about her look. Care to take a peek and see if anything will suit you as well as they did her?
#1. Pinky Lipstick: Whenever we get ready for a big event, we rarely consider lipstick that's very close to the natural shade of our lips-- it's usually a statement red, a high gloss, or something quite nude. Not only is Rachel's pink lipstick fresh and flattering, but it's barely-there to let her eyes stand out.
#2. Low-Key or Nonexistent Blush: Let your creamy skin look great just on its own! We've seen so many different blush mistakes on the red carpet, so apply yours with an extremely light hand the next time you try it, or simply skip it altogether if you have natural color already. Rachel's blush had the same sheer pink vibe to it as her eyes and lips.
#3. Pink-ish Eyeshadow: Many of us have read about pink eyeshadow, and about how unflattering it can look if it's done wrong. While it's true that red eyeshadow can make your eyes look tired, an almost lavender tone will make hazel, green, or deep blue eyes look fab.
#4. Mixed-Up Mascara: I love heavy mascara-- busted. If you're like me, you can't resist putting lots on the top and bottom. That's okay. Simply aim for brown mascara on the bottom lashes, and pumped-up black volumizing mascara along the top. Insta-glam!
