Gabourey Sidibe's Mom Responds To Howard Stern's Insults
Gabourey Sidibe's mom tells Howard Stern he's out of line.
A media war has ensued between Howard Stern and lovers of Oscar-nominated Precious star Gabourey Sidibe. Last week Stern made nasty jibes about Sidibe's weight and said that she'll never work again. Now Sidibe's mom is speaking out. (Just like my mom always says, you can mess with the mama, but never mess with her babies.)
Gabourey Sidibe's mother, Alice Tan Ridley, told Howard Stern the following via Inside Edition Monday night: "We all see that Gaby is a big girl, what's wrong with that? She's not like everybody else in the world." Ridley also said in reference to Stern, "Get a life...I don't see him giving jobs out to anybody, so why should we care what he says? He might not hire her, but someone else will!"
Meanwhile Gabourey Sidibe's weight is also the target of a company that distributes diet pills. Apparently the company wrote to Sidibe, saying, "The only way you can reach your goal of someday winning that Oscar is by being active, fit, and most of all, healthy." However the National Association To Advance Fat Acceptance (NAAFA) blasted back in Sidibe's defense, "Fat does not equal disease and thin does not equal healthy."
