Gary Coleman 911 Call: "There's Blood Everywhere"
"I'm just panicked and I don't know what to do."
The injury that put Gary Coleman into a coma and eventually lead to his death last Wednesday was more severe than first thought. In the 911 call to paramedics, Shannon Price (who it has recently been revealed actually divorced Coleman in 2008) claims she found Coleman in a pool of blood.
The 911 call to emergency responders is marked by a harried Price who is trying to explain to a dispatcher Coleman's injury.
"I had my husband go make me some food downstairs, he just got home and I heard this big bang," Price can be heard saying. "His head is bloody. There's blood all over the floor. Send someone quick because I don't know if he's going to, like, be alive."
Coleman had apparently fallen after feeling woozy from a day of dialysis treatment for his congenital kidney disease. In the tape Price describes his wound as gushing from the back of his head, and that there is just too much blood.
"He's bubbling at the mouth," she says.
She repeatedly says she "can't do anything right now" because she has had a fever and "can't deal" with all the blood. "I'm just panicked and I don't know what to do."
Once paramedics arrived, the former child star was taken to the hospital. The brain hemorrhage he suffered eventually put him into a coma, and Price told doctors it was okay to remove him from life support on Friday.
As it turns out, Price was not even Coleman's wife anymore. The pair secretly divorced in 2008, making it sticky territory when she presented herself to healthcare officials at the hospital as his spouse.
The hospital has released a statement saying Coleman granted Price a healthcare directive that allowed her to make medical decisions on his behalf. However, check out our story on how Gary Coleman's death is currently under investigation
