Gwen Stefani's hair was seen looking high as the heavens when she was out with her son the other day, and we were admiring her very voluminous style that looked really low-key. Why not give it a go, sans teasing, when you have a chance? It's so much better than a regular ponytail!
The most effective way to get this look is to start off with slightly dirty hair. We know that sounds a little on the gross side, but clean hair is way too slippery to work with, and it just doesn't hold. Maybe you want to save this look for when you are rolling out of bed without any shower time in the schedule!
Simply smooth your hair back with a wide paddle brush, not too thoroughly, and make sure that all your stray hairs are in place. As you reach around to gather your hair into a ponytail, twist the ponytail hair clockwise, which will add volume up top, and then secure. This works best with medium-coarse hair, but it's super easy. Employ the use of mousse for a higher bump that lasts longer, or section the top half of your hair and twist before brushing in the bottom half of your ponytail.
