Halle Berry Reveals She Still Loves Gabriel Aubry

The breakup between Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry has been one of the biggest celeb romance sagas of the year. It all went down in late April, and now Halle's breaking her silence to reveal why she and Gabriel have committed to loving each other for life, even though they're apart -- here's the story.
Forty-three-year-old Halle Berry and 34-year-old Cadadian model Gabriel Aubry broke up last spring to a media firestorm. For months rumors suggested that both were slinging backhanded insults at one another through the press, and one story seemed to reveal that Gabriel had been cheating on Halle with a young model. But now that the pair are spending time together in Africa to share custody of their two-year-old daughter, Nahla, Halle is finally shedding light on what's really happening behind closed curtains.
Halle Berry has revealed in the new issue of "Vogue": "We were meant to bring this amazing little person into the world. And I think that's why we came together. And because of that, we are going to be together forever, all three of us. We are a family until we are not here anymore."
Halle admits that Gabriel Aubry wasn't a fit as the love of her life, but she knew what she was doing when she had a baby to him: "We have always been friends, we're still friends, we love each other very much, and we both share the love of our lives," Halle said about her relationship with Gabriel. "And we are both 100 percent committed to being the best parents we can be. And while it was not a love connection for us, he was absolutely the right person to have this child with because she is going to have an amazing father."

As for how she's portrayed in the press, Halle Berry is clamping down on the notion that she's "this brooding, twisted, lovesick person who just can't get it right in life," she said. "Every story about me is so heavy and dramatic. That's not how I do life. But that's the impression people have, and that's what keeps getting reiterated. As if I'm still stuck in all the muck of the past. And I am so not."
