Hannah Montana to End After Fourth Season
And yet Miley Cyrus will remain.
Hannah Montana, everyone's favorite Disney Channel drama about the trials of an over-privileged tween rockstar, will shutter its doors after a fourth season. Excuse me while I find a quiet place to cry.
Since 2006, the world has been treated to the inner workings of how young celebrities lead double lives, providing such thought-provoking scenarios as how to choose between the excess of rock n roll and the safety of home, between the glamour of sports cars and the squishy embrace of a meaty, small-town cowboy. You know, stuff that matters.
But now it looks like the show has run its course. In a statement released by Disney, the show will end after its fourth season next year. In the meantime, this season's finale, dubbed "Is Miley Saying Goodbye?," will set up the antics of the final season.
According to Disney Channel Worldwide programming executive Adam Bonnett, the finale in March is going to be "a big one-hour event where we find out what Miley Stewart's decision is going to be."
The fourth season will begin filming in about a week, and will finally answer the question we've all been itching to find out.
"It's one of the things she's been wrestling with for months," says Bonnett, "whether it's time to make a decision to continue being Hannah Montana or just be a regular, ordinary girl."
