Heath Ledger's Apartment Sells For $15 Million
The New York building where Heath Ledger died of a fatal drugs overdose in 2008 has been sold in a foreclosure auction for $15m. Its owner had reportedly struggled to rent the actor's former apartment in the property, in Manhattan's trendy SoHo neighborhood, because buyers were put off at the thought of him having died there.
Dark Knight star Ledger was renting the luxury pad for $23,000 a month when he was found dead at the age of 28 on January 22, 2008. Donald Burns, whose Palm Beach Mortgage Management is the main lender to the Broome Street building, offered the winning bid through his lawyer, according to the New York Post.
