Heidi Klum Taking Seal's Last Name

Klum to change to Samuel so her "patchwork family" will match.

There was buzz early this week that the gorgeous Heidi Klum may be changing her last name. The rumors have been confirmed, as Klum, 36, has filed a petition to change her maiden name.

Klum is due with a second daughter this month. She and Seal, 46, have two biological sons together -- Henry, 3, and Johan, 2 -- and Seal is the adoptive father of Klum's five-year-old daughter Helene (better known as Leni).

Sources suggest Klum's desire to change her surname to Samuel will better unite what she has referred to as their "patchwork family." She's been quoted saying, "we're all different shades and we came together and we all love each other...it's actually kind of nice to have a 'patchwork family'."

Klum also filed a petition to become a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2008. Seal is a native of England.
