HollyNotes: Heidi Montag Sings(ish), Lindsay Lohan Is Robbed, And George Clooney Breaks His Hand
So much fodder this week, not sure where to start! Heidi Montag at Miss Universe, LeAnn and Eddie go public, Kate Gosselin on The View, and George Clooney breaks his hand. Okay, let's get started...
The week started off with Heidi Montag's first-ever live performance at the Miss Universe competition. The reality star, who just recently posed for Playboy (and carries around the issue as proof,) performed her new song Body Language. The performance was mostly lip-synched and bloggers around the world immediately blasted it. I think I'll choose to focus on how nice her hair looked. I thought it really looked great.
So now let's talk about LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian. These two have been fueling affair rumors for many months. And over the past few weeks, both have separated from their respective spouses. It was this week, though, that LeAnn and Eddie made some public appearances as a couple. They first hit the golf links late last week and then took in a Kings of Leon concert Saturday night. For all those wondering, it appears they are truly dating. I might stand alone here, but I kinda like this pairing. I realize they haven't acted super nicely, but I like both of these celebs and kinda hope it works out. Do you like me less now?
It was announced on Tuesday that Kate Gosselin will be a guest host on The View. She'll be joining Barbara, Whoopi, Joy, and Sherri on September 14th and 15th. She's filling Elisabeth's seat who is out for maternity leave. It's definitely an interesting choice for the hit ABC show. Clearly, Kate has a solid TV presence, but I'm really eager to see her just sitting around chatting with the ladies. Can't wait to see this.
Even though the King of Pop died over two months ago, new developments are leaked almost every day about his death and his daily routines. Earlier this week, the Los Angeles County coroner ruled that MJ's death was a homicide. Turns out, the singer had lethal amounts of Propofol in his system when he died. And it's looking like Dr. Conrad Murray who was with him when he died (and who waited 82 minutes to call 911) might be charged with murder. This story isn't close to over. Stay tuned...
So what's the deal with The Bachelorette's Jillian Harris and her fiancé Ed Swiderski? They are helplessly in love, they both say vehemently. Even after a US Weekly cover story featuring two women claiming to have been involved with Ed during the show hit newsstands, the couple is staying strong. I wish them well - it's always fun when a couple from that show succeeds.

- George Clooney broke his hand in Italy a few weeks ago-though details have only emerged this week. False reports said it was a motorcycle accident but his rep set the record straight - he broke it slamming it in a car door.
- Melanie Griffith checked into rehab earlier this week. Her rep reports this visit at the Cirque Lodge in Utah is part of an ongoing plan to help keep Griffith healthy. Either way, I'm sending happy thoughts to her. I mean, who doesn't love her role in the under-appreciated 1994 film Milk Money??
- Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin have officially been seen filming 30 Rock around Manhattan... YES! Fall TV is almost back!
- Lindsay Lohan's house was broken into (again) and this time the cops have video of the culprits attempting to get in. And they've released it. So, watch out robbers -- it's only a matter of time before you're caught!
- Chris Brown was sentenced Tuesday to five years probation for the assault of singer Rihanna. The sentence includes over 1400 hours of community service and a restraining order to stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna until 2014.
