Hugh Grant Has Panic Attacks
Nobody's Perfect
Hugh Grant has said that he suffers from paralyzing panic attacks that cause him to "freeze." The actor opened up about his issues in a recent interview, attributing their intensity to him almost leaving the biz for good. What would we do without the King of Rom Com?
The crippling panic attacks started happening when Hugh Grant was filming Music and Lyrics in 2007.
"When I got home from doing that job, I said to myself, 'No more acting. End of films.' I really needed a big temptation to come back. I saw some doctors about getting over my panic attacks. They kind of convinced me I could," Hugh explained.
Hugh said that the attacks make him "freeze like a rabbit," and that he "can't speak, can't think, sweating like a bull."
Hugh, who calls himself "very limited as an actor," said that he experiences plenty of conflict when planning his next move, professionally-speaking.
"I'm pulled in two different directions. Part of me wants to hide, preferably under the bed, and not have anyone come near me. But I'm not happy if I'm not occasionally achieving something. My ego demands it."
I could care less if Hugh Grant decided to branch out-- if he sticks with what he's good at, and knows he's rubbish at other roles, then he's saving us the cash we fork out at the theatres for a terrible movie. I'm sure that Did You Hear About the Morgans? will be a feel-good flick! He can just keep on making those...
