Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig Pause for Cell Phones
Mom always calls at the worst times.
Some people just don't know when to turn their cell phones off. During a recent performance of the Broadway play A Steady Rain, starring Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig, an audience member's cell phone threatened to throw the actors off their game.
According to witnesses, one spectator's phone just kept ringing during the performance. Fortunately both Jackman and Craig were good sports about it and even used it to their advantage.
At first the actors tried to ignore the sound, but when it wouldn't stop Jackman finally adressed the person himself, all while staying in character.
"You wanna get that?" he asked. "You wanna get it, grab it! I don’t care, grab it. Grab your phone. It doesn’t matter."
But of course the ringing continued and he shouted:
"C’mon, just turn it off - unless you got a better story and you wanna get out and tell your story!"
The audience then laughed and cheered, and the play finally resumed. But then, wouldn't you know, the phone rang again! This time Daniel Craig jumped in.
"Can you get that, whoever that is?" he asked. "Can you get it? We can wait, just get the phone." Added Jackman, "don’t be embarrassed, just grab it. We’ve all done it!"
Hopefully the audience member had enough sense after that to turn off their cell phone. The last thing you want is James Bond and Wolverine coming after you for a lousy beeping.
