Ian Halperin's 'Brangelina' Book Spins Drama
Trouble in Camelot?
Ian Halperin has made a living off penning controversial undercover biographies. In previous books, the Canadian investigative journalist has dug up dirt on Kurt Cobain, Celine Dion and Michael Jackson, and now he has his sights on Hollywood royalty: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
In Halperin's new book, "Brangelina: The Untold Story of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie," he drops juicy (though suspicious) details about the rocky relationship between the two stars.
For example, according to a limo driver, Angelina is quite the dangerous one. "I was more worried about his safety than hers," the driver says. "She really flew off the handle, threatening him and lashing out at him. I can't imagine how anyone would want to be with her every day, no matter how sexy she is. She has a temper like a cobra."
Of course, Halperin plays up this popular idea that Jolie is a vicious beast. "I talked to several people in Brad's family who wished they'd break up today," he says. "They're scared for Brad's safety and his well-being."
This juiciness, whether it's true or false, is supported by the idea that Jolie also has it out for Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt's ex-lover.
.
"It was Angelina who came up with the whole story about Jennifer not wanting to have kids," said someone from 20th Century Fox, which produced Mr and Mrs Smith. "She was convinced that is the story that would resonate with all these women who saw her as a man-stealing bitch."
The book also dives into the couple's sex life.
"Brad had never had such incredible sex," Halperin says. "My sources say that they sometimes spent 18 to 20 hours a day in bed. But sex eventually wears off."
Ultimately, Halperin says the couple is on its last legs. "They'll be split within 18 months, probably sooner," says another of his sources.
