Hep stays hip.

It wasn't the famous little black dress, but it still pulled in astounding sum. Audrey Hepburn's black cocktail dress worn in the 1966 film How to Steal a Million recently sold at auction for $98,000.

In the biggest collection of Hepburn's clothing ever to be sold at an auction, the famous chantilly lace dress was the centerpiece. In all, the Hubert de Givenchy had by far the highest bid in an auction that brought in a total of $462,207.

Needless to say, this sum surpassed all expectations and further solidified the fact that Hepburn's style and influence is still very much in popular culture.

According to Kerry Taylor, one of the auctioneers, Hepburn has continued to captivate fans almost 50 years later because of her simplicity.

"She liked very simple things," says Taylor. "Less was always more with Audrey, and so she would look for things that fitted her very well. She said that you should look at yourself as if you were a tool, and you have to see what are your best features, and what are your bad features."

Over 40 items from Hepburn's wardrobe were sold at the auction, an event organizers said "the like of which will never be seen again."

Half of all the proceeds will benefit The Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund.
