Iron Chef's Mark Dacascos Joins DWTS
The Chairman has the floor.
If there's one thing Iron Chef Chairman Mark Dacascos knows how to do, it's judge a competition. This skill should give him a huge leg up as competes on the new season of Dancing with the Stars.
It was announced recently that Dacascos will join the show, along with other big names like Donny Osmond, Aaron Carter, Kelly Osbourne, football player Michael Irvin, Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin and former House Majority Leader Tom "The Hammer" Delay.
Born in Hawaii, Dacascos was a champion in martial arts throughout his early life, and soon built a name for himself playing karate and kung fu action heroes. He's been in dozens of films, television shows and video games, mostly as an action star.
Then, in 2005, he landed the job of chairman on Iron Chef, a culinary competition based on the orginal Japanese series. At the beginning of every episode, he is introduced as the nephew of the Japanese chairman, Takeshi Kaga.
So it looks like Dacascos knows his way around the kitchen. But whether or not that means he can slice and dice on the dance floor remains to be seen.
