Is Katherine Heigl Leaving 'Grey's Anatomy'?
No more Izzie?
It seems like we've been hearing these rumors forever. Katherine Heigl isn't happy with Grey's Anatomy and is getting set to leave. She recently adopted a baby and is not returning from maternity leave, but we'll she last long?
Katherine Heigl took a 3-month maternity leave from Grey's Anatomy to spend time with newly adopted 15-month daughter Naleigh with husband Josh Kelley. But she's finally getting ready to return to the set. Katherine is going to return to Grey's Anatomy on March 1.
But two weeks after that, Heigl is taking off again, this time to Las Vegas to pick up the ShoWest award for Female Star of the Year. Obviously this award is a big honor, especially considering women like Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston have won it in the past.
Though I think Katherine Heigl is an amazing actress, I also think she's incredibly full of herself and needs to be knocked back to reality. Katherine always feels as though she's being treated unfairly on the set of Grey's Anatomy and not getting paid enough. But really, the show played a huge part in launching her career.
So, will Katherine return to Grey's Anatomy after accepting her award? Only time will tell, but according to a source close to the show, "It wouldn't be a shock." Katherine will be absent from roughly half of the series 24-episode run, so clearly they know they can go on without her.
