Is Fall Out Boy Officially Breaking Up?

We want answers!

Fall Out Boy has totally been leaving us hanging. OK, we get it; Pete Wentz had a baby and married Ashlee Simpson, but we kind of thought he was just taking a break from music for a bit. Now, he's starting to make us think it's over for good.

Fall Out Boy keeps telling us they're just taking a break, which is totally fine if it is, in fact, true. But now we're starting to think that they're just avoiding the official break-up announcement. Plus, who knows, they might be back. Some day. But really, Pete Wentz is leading us to believe this break could actually go on forever.

Apparently, Pete Wentz believes a break is forever. With a slight chance that something could change. He announced to one of his followers on Twitter the other day, "Don't you get it? A hiatus is forever until you get lonely or old. I don't plan on either." So, it could otherwise be called a breakup? Pete makes it even clearer he doesn't plan on making music with FOB again: "cant imagine playing in fob again. something would have to change in my head or my heart- not my wallet. itd have to be real."

It's just kind of funny he's making these kind of big announcements via Twitter rather than through the band's page or a publicist. Though he does say, "would you rather me lie to you through a publicist?" Uh well, no.

This is all following a totally confusing blog post that Pete wrote talking about the future of Fall Out Boy. Pete loves to confuse fans and keep them wondering about FOB via online methods. It sounds like there's actually a chance they could go on without Pete with them. And I suppose this would actually work for them, though it would be odd not to see Pete up there.

Do you think Fall Out Boy should just announce that they're breaking up already or should they stick with this whole "break" thing?
