It's Not Fierce. It's Dope.
That skirt is so diaphanous!
So you've got the Bottega Veneta bag everyone's coveting and the Tom Ford shades to match. That's step one. Step two is knowing how to describe your fab fashion items. Are they "chic," "on trend," or "diaphanous"?
Thanks to the insider looks of fashion through reality shows, the lexicon of style is growing. "Diaphanous," for example, is used to describe how fine an item's texture. "On trend," has replaced "trendy".
Don't believe us? How many times was your new leather jacket complimented as "fierce"? You have Project Runway winner Christian Siriano to thank for spearheading random slang into an overused exclamation. And those new shoes? They'll soon be called "glamit" because glamorous is so over.
But beware what you say because, like everything else in fashion, these terms are fickle. Today's "dope" is tomorrow's don't.
And you wouldn't want to be labeled a "prune".
