J.Crew Teams Up with Imogene + Willie for Denim

J.Crew taken up another level

On the one hand, we're super excited about this collaboration. We think J.Crew and Imogene + Willie will make an awesome team. On the other hand, we wonder if J.Crew will soon be way too high-end for any of us to afford. Thoughts?

J.Crew isn't exactly a cheap clothing line. But they're certainly affordable and they do have amazing sales. But we've noticed them upping their prices more and more recently. Of course, the quality and design of their clothing has also improved, so we understand the inflated prices, but it's starting to make us question what we go to J.Crew for.

All that aside, we really are quite excited that J.Crew is collaborating with denim designer Imogene + Willie. The collection will start with just two lines of men's jeans. A dark wash version for $375 and a light wash version for $425. We told you they weren't cheap. And soon they'll be coming out with some bags, too, including a leather tote for $800 and a mail bag version for $650.

It's also being said Imogene + Willie will be designing two tops for women and we're interested in seeing how cute they are. And how pricey they are, as well.

Don't get us wrong, we get the prices; we really do. As J.Crew's head of men's design tells StyleList, "We love everything that Imogene + Willie do! The hand-washing techniques that they create in their Nashville workshop and backyard are incredibly unique and every pair is so special. Carrie and Matt are true artisans!"
